Sailing Greece Cyclades

Sailing Greece Cyclades and other islandgroups

Located in the blue waters of the Aegean Sea, the Cyclades archipelago comprises 56 smaller and larger islands arranged like a circle. Hence the name Cyclades (Kyklos = circle). They include well-known islands such as Mykonos and Santorini, which are equally popular with sailors and cruise ship passengers as well as the international jet set, but also some islands that are still almost untouched and which the streams of tourists usually pass by. The Cyclades are, of course, at the top of our list of offers for sailing in Greece. Like “steeds of stone with flowing manes” (Odysseas Elytis), they emerge from the sea with their white cube houses bathed in dazzling light, dotted with whitewashed chapels and the typical round windmills. But despite the many things they have in common – beach and sea, landscape and architecture – each Cycladic island has its own distinctive colouring, as you will discover for yourself on your sailing trip.
On the Cycladic islands, you enter a world of stimulating culture and breathtaking architecture; a veritable dream for the more sophisticated traveller and all blending seamlessly with the gifts that nature bestows. All the islands have an individual character of their own.

Sail & Hike Ionian Islands

Sailing in Greece Ionian islands

Ancient olive groves over infinitely beautiful beaches and bays characterise the lovely landscape of the Ionian Islands. This is where Odysseus’ odysseys ended. Visitors can expect a lot of art and architecture, sports facilities and excellent cuisine. The Ionian Islands were mediators between Greece and the West for over six centuries. This has shaped their culture and the face of villages and towns. The winds are less rough than in the Aegean, making the Ionian Sea an ideal sailing area, especially for beginners. But the many picturesque harbours also attract experienced sailors. Slender cypresses tower from the stone-aged olive groves. In the morning you will have the opportunity to sail, swim and explore on a 3-4 hour guided excursion to islands known for their beautiful beaches and emerald waters.
In the early afternoon, join a 2-3 hour guided hike to islands with unique architecture and lush green architecture with lush green nature, while you relax on the ship in the late afternoon. Or meet fellow travellers at more local conversations in the picturesque harbours. When the day is over and it’s time to rest, sleep comfortably on board our catamaran in the middle of an organised and protected harbour.
