  • Safeguarding your payments!
  • As a German company, we are subject to the (quite customer-friendly) travel laws of our country and we are obliged, among other things, to secure customer payments through appropriate insurance.

* On this point, there have recently been more and more providers who reserve the right to cancel even up to 10-14 days before the start of the trip if the minimum number of participants (here often even 4 people) is not reached. No compensation is then paid for the costs of arrival and departure. Such agencies often present a huge programme that very quickly turns out to be a soap bubble. They work exclusively with charter ships that are only booked when enough participants are booked. It is astonishing that such a “poker game” is permitted in Germany.

Sailing in the Cyclades

The bright white of the houses, chapels and churches contrasting with the deep blue sea and the ever-bright blue sky. Greece like on a Discover the Cyclades individually postcard – that’s the Cyclades. More detailed travel information or travel guides about the Cyclades. Formerly the insider tip of backpackers, they have been at the centre of Greek tourism for years. Of the more than 200 islands, some are somewhat crowded in summer; but even here there are always deserted, small bays that invite you to linger and can often only be reached by boat. The warmth of the islanders and the cosiness of the tavernas in the small harbours leave a positive impression.
The sailing area: The landscape of the Cyclades is full of contrasts. In addition to the very barren islands with little water, such as Mykonos, Kea, Antiparos, Folegandros or Delos, there are surprisingly green and fertile areas on Naxos, Paros or Amorgos. In spring, it blossoms and greens everywhere here, tempting you to escape our still wintry northern Europe. True bathing temperatures are not reached until May, but we can also soak up the sun in March and April.

Sailing area of the Cyclades

The closely spaced islands form a varied sailing area. So it is often the wind that decides where the journey should go. However, the main wind direction (north-east) also dictates a certain logic. So we first try to gain height towards the east with “upwind courses”. There are considerably more possibilities than we can present. The Cyclades are considered a windy area, but the last few years have shown rather average values. Even with stronger winds, we have no problems to fear with our ship size. You will see how well behaved this yacht is under sail.
If you are sailing with us in the Cyclades, the island of Paros is a destination or the beginning or end of the journey. Miles of sandy beaches or a hike into the hinterland with typical, small mountain villages should be worth a visit for the crew.
Paros is easily accessible from Piraeus or Rafina by ferry (these are now in very good condition) or by plane from Athens. However, the flight times of your flight from your home country should be coordinated with the ferry/flight times in Greece. For a stay on the island, we can arrange hotel rooms of your choice.

Description of a sailing week

The Cyclades islandsOn the day of arrival, you can board the ship from 17:00. If you arrive earlier, you have the option of leaving your luggage on board the ship and spending the time with first sightseeing, shopping or on the beach. On the day of your departure, you will leave the ship by 10.00 am.
On board you will get to know the skipper and your fellow sailors. First arrangements about the course of the cruise are made, the introduction into the ship follows, the cash box is set up, food purchases are discussed. The purchases, the costs for diesel, harbour fees etc. are paid from the onboard cash box. The skipper does not pay into the onboard cash box and is catered for by the crew. The costs for any restaurant visits are not usually paid from the onboard cash box. The first purchase is made on the day of arrival or the morning of the following day. All participants are equally responsible for living together on board, cooking, cleaning or shopping. Then your sailing trip to the Cyclades will finally begin.

You will spend the nights in harbours or anchored in bays. Wind and weather determine the exact stages of the trip. The routes given in our brochures are not binding, ultimately the crew decides the course of the trip together with the skipper, taking into account the weather conditions.
