Gib Sea 472: You will explore the Mediterranean Sea and the Balearic island with the very spacious Gib Sea 472. The crew is accommodated in 5 double cabins, two of which are equipped with bunk beds. Besides two showers and two toilets are available. The great salon is the ideal meeting point for everyone. The yacht convinces with outstanding sail charactaristics, so that even beginners should have no problem with its handling.
Bavaria 49 SY: In those waters another yacht might possibly be used: the „Roxanna“. It offers 5 double cabins as well and thus has a lot of space. Although it is laid out for 10 people it won’t be used by more than 8 guests and the skipper. Despite its size it is very easy to handle and reliably sails the designated course, which makes it ideal for both beginners and old hands.
The sailing area
The Balearic islands offer a terrific scenery with rugged coastlines, beautiful bays, picturesque harbours and white sandy beaches. While sailing you have the possibility to explore the other side of these islands, apart from the famous tourist destinations. The Mediterranean climate allows a lot of different cruises from relaxed daycruises to challenging sailing trips. Also you can decide between numerous mooring points, such as glamourous marinas or calm fishing ports.
Usually no detailed route will be defined from the outset, as you are exposed to and depending on wind and weather. Therefore each morning you will discuss the route with the skipper taking into account the weather forecast.
Your cruise will start in Palma de Mallorca and might lead you along the east coast of the island. The first destination could be Cala Pi, a small bay framed by cliffs or Sa Rapita, an amazing sandy beach. You should also visit Porto Christo and its astonishing „Dragon Caves“, which belong to the largest stalactite caves in Europe. Provided that you will obtain an authorisation you might as well visit the protected islands Cabrera. If the weather cooperates the tour will continue to Minorca. The island offers several possibilities as well – you could for instance stop at the harbour of Ciudadela, the former capital, and visit its impressive cathedral or discover the peaceful bay of Fornells.
Another tour might lead you to Ibiza and Formentera. Start and end point will be the harbour of Palma de Mallorca as well. Ibiza lures with countless small cliffs and fascinating anchorages which are waiting to be discovered. Formentera is located only a few nautical miles south and way more relaxed than its bigger sister. The perfect way to explore the island is by bike, as it is very flat.
