A country full of contrasts: from the countries’ interior, where the hills are adorned with vineyards, lakes and waterfalls, to the coast of Dalmatia, where the mountains make for a scenic background of the crystal-clear water and more than 1.000 islands and islets. This trip offers you the opportunity to visit and discover the highlights of the beautiful region Dalmatia.
Day 1: Arrival
You will meet your local travel guide at the airport of Split. From there you will be transferred to the hotel.
Day 2: Dubrovnik
After breakfast you will depart to Dubrovnik – ‘the Pearl of the Adriatic‘. You will explore the unique historic old town and enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere in the city, which equals an open-air museum. During a city walk you will get to know more about the varied history of the city. You can spend the remaining time until afternoon as you like. Transfer to the hotel will take place in the afternoon.
Day 3: Trogir & Split
Trogir is a port city on the bay of Kastela, approximately 27 km west of Split. The old city centre of Trogir is located on a small islet between the isladn Ciovo and the mainland. Trogir offers an enormous variety, which invites you to be discovered: from romantic courtyards, beautiful works of art and original monuments to its magnificent and multi-facetted cultural and historic heritage. Moreover you will encounter countless little island and islets, wonderful pebble beaches and rocky coastlines and last but not least an excellent gastronomy.
Split – the largest city of Dalmatia inspires its guests. The old town with its wonderful seaside promenade and the famous Dioclatian Palace capture every visitor’s attention. Shopping fans as well will get their moeny’s worth. In the evening you will return to the hotel.
Day 4: Sibenik & Krka National Park
Today you will go to Sibenik via the coastal road and the motorway. The pretty old town offers valuable cultural and historical monuments. After the guided tour through the city you have a litte leisure time.
In the early afternoon you will move on to the Krka National Park. where you will visit the best known waterfall called Skradinski buk. Here the river Krka parts into 17 different waterfalls. The cascades, which are up to 100 metres wide, fall into a depth of about 50 metres. Return to the hotel will be in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Leisure day
You can plan this day just as you please. You could go for a relaxing walk along the sea front, enjoy a couple of great hours at the beach or individually explore the beautiful old town of Makarska.
Day 6: Mostar
Mostar and Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina will be the destinations for today. On a guided tour through Mostar you will amongst other things visit the newly restrored historic bridge over the Neretva river and experience the unique atmospehre of this oriental city. On you way back to the hotel you will stop for a short stay at the famous place of pilgrimage Medjugorje. You will arrive at the hotel at early evening.
Day 7: Omis
Today you will go to Omis and explore its small old town and lively market. Afterwards you will go for a boat trip od the Cetina river. You will be back at the hotel in the afternoon and can spend the rest of the day according to your individual wishes.
Day 8: Departure
The way back to the airport of Split will lead you along the Makarska-Riviera. Of course you can also prolong your stay in a hotel of your choice.
